A 100% cotton ticking, woven in the U.S. and Peru, encases the mattress. Made to last, Royal-Pedic’s cotton ticking also breathes beautifully to help ventilate body heat. No chemicals are used in the processing of the cotton – or the French Wool Wrap, which is layered beneath the cotton ticking, and above the inner hand-tufted cotton padding for safe, healthy and supportive sleep. The French wool wrap not only dissipates moisture and naturally stabilizes mattress temperature for comfort, but also provides a natural fire-retardant barrier that meets all Federal fire standards. It is also naturally dust mite resistant – an added benefit for allergy sufferers. The untreated and pristinely clean French wool is odorless, and comes from sheep that only graze in open pastures.
• Up to 50 lbs of pre-compressed natural cotton padding surround Royal-Pedic’s innovative, Swiss-designed Royal-Flex® 630i innerspring system, creating an evenly consistent and supportive sleeping surface. The padding is supported by 10-oz, heavy-duty, 100% cotton canvas fabric that prevents the padding from pocketing down and entangling in the innerspring’s coils. The innerspring system features 68% more coils than found in standard mattresses, plus uses T-Spring side supports around the perimeter for edge-to-edge comfort. Strong, yet simultaneously flexible, the coils won’t sag over time, but will contour to your body’s shape for a restful and restorative sleep.
• The Natural Cotton mattress with Wool Wrap is very firm and offers outstanding orthopedic support. For those who like a firm mattress, but prefer a more plush surface we recommend adding the optional Royal-Pedic 2″, 3″, or 4″ cotton pillowtop pad (sold separately).

On the inside, everything about this box spring says quality, strength and durability, from the number, type and gauge of the coils used, to the hotel-grade foundation that the coils rest on. This exceptional box spring is covered in the same natural cotton fabric as the mattress, and is additionally padded at the top with a layer of natural cotton to lend added support to the bottom of the mattress, plus a layering of French Wool as a fire barrier. Heavy-duty cotton fabric is used on the bottom of the box spring, in place of the customary thin, non-woven synthetic that often droops and pills. To finish, brass corner guards are installed on lower corners instead of the plastic ones that so easily break off.

The overall height of the complete bed set from the floor when installed on Royal-Pedic’s optional 7″ metal bed frame is approximately 23″ (without a pillowtop pad).
